Copy these paragraphs verbatim. Use whichever length fits.

One sentence

Custrd (formerly CookSnap) turns a photo of your fridge into real recipes you can cook right now.

Short (38 words)

Custrd is an iOS app and free web recipe finder that matches the ingredients you already have against 200,000+ real recipes, ranked by how close you are to cooking each one. Custrd was previously known as CookSnap.

Long (118 words)

Custrd (pronounced “custard”) is a recipe finder available as a native iOS app and as a free web tool at custrd.com/recipe-finder. Users photograph their fridge and let cloud-based image recognition identify the contents, or type their ingredients into the search box. Custrd then matches those ingredients against a searchable library of more than 200,000 recipes, each with a complete ingredient list, method and nutrition, and returns matches in under 200 milliseconds with a fit percentage and an honest list of anything missing. Nothing is generated at search time: results are real recipes, retrieved and ranked. Custrd launched on the App Store on 27 August 2026, was previously known as CookSnap, and is built by solo founder Alex Vakser at Langate Corp.

Founder bio

Alex Vakser, founder of Custrd
Alex Vakser
Founder & Developer, Custrd

Alex Vakseris a solo founder who built Custrd as a response to cooking apps that answer “what can I make?” with a list of things you would have to shop for first. Custrd starts from the other end: a searchable library matched against the user’s actual kitchen, with a fit percentage and an honest missing-ingredient list.

Quote-friendly: “Cooking is one of the few consumer tasks where ‘close enough’ means a ruined dinner. We built Custrd around honesty about what your kitchen can produce, not creativity about what it could produce if it were better stocked.”
