Custrd vs. the rest of the recipe-app field.
We picked five apps that come up most often in the same conversations as Custrd and wrote side-by-side feature matrices for each one. No marketing fluff. Every comparison links to a deep-dive piece if you want the long version, and every comparison ends with the kitchen we think the other app is actually better for.
Custrd vs. SuperCook
SuperCook is older, broader, and unbeatable for deep pantries. Custrd is newer and built for the 'four ingredients and twenty minutes' kitchen.
Custrd vs. DishGen
DishGen writes you a new recipe every time you ask. Custrd searches a fixed library — the same recipe, at the same link, whenever you come back to it.
Custrd vs. Paprika
Paprika is a recipe organizer with grocery lists and meal planning. Custrd is a recipe finder that matches your ingredients to a curated library. People who want both run them side by side.
Custrd vs. Mealime
Mealime is a Sunday-prep app for households that plan the week ahead. Custrd is a Wednesday-night app for households that open the fridge and cook from what's there.
Custrd vs. Yummly
Yummly indexes more of the open web. Custrd hosts what it returns — photo, steps, macros, no click-out. Choose based on whether you want breadth or a page you can cook from.
