Step 1
Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F. If you don't have a thermometer, test with a biscuit piece—it should sizzle immediately and float.

Separate biscuits and flatten each one gently into a 3-inch round. Place 1 tbsp jam in the center of half the biscuits.

Top jam-filled biscuits with unfilled ones, then pinch edges firmly to seal—no leaks, or filling escapes into oil.

Fry donuts 90 seconds per side until deep golden brown. Use a slotted spoon to flip and remove them.
Step 5
Drain on paper towels. While still warm, brush lightly with melted butter, then dust generously with powdered sugar.
