Instructions

  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Soak bread cubes in milk for 5 minutes, then squeeze out excess.

  2. Step 2

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Brown ground beef, breaking up with spoon, ~6 minutes.

  3. Step 3

Add onion and garlic. Stir until softened and fragrant, ~3 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Sprinkle curry powder and turmeric. Stir constantly for 1 minute until fragrant.

  5. Step 5

Add apricots, chutney, grated apple, almonds, and soaked bread. Stir to combine.

  6. Step 6

Season with salt and pepper. Transfer beef mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  7. Step 7

Whisk 2 eggs with remaining milk. Pour evenly over beef. Top with remaining egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp milk.

  8. Step 8

Bake until custard is set and golden on top, 20–25 minutes. Custard should jiggle slightly at center.

  9. Step 9
