Step 1
In a cocktail shaker, muddle 0.5 cup blueberries with 0.5 oz simple syrup until the berries release their juice, about 30 seconds.
Step 2
Add 2 oz gin, 1 oz lemon juice, and a handful of ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well chilled.
Step 3
Fill a tall glass with 1 cup ice cubes. Strain the shaken mixture into the glass, leaving the muddled berry solids behind.
Step 4
Top the glass with 4 oz club soda, pouring slowly to preserve the fizz. Stir gently once to combine.
Step 5
Garnish with a few fresh blueberries and a lemon wheel if desired. Serve immediately.
