Cut potatoes into 2-inch chunks. Place in a large pot and cover with cold salted water.

Bring to a boil and cook uncovered until potatoes are fork-tender, 12–15 minutes.
Step 3
Slice bread into 0.5-inch-thick pieces. Arrange on a cutting board or in a bread basket.
Step 4
Drain potatoes and transfer to a serving bowl. Season with salt and pepper.

Place raclette cheese slices in a raclette grill, skillet, or broiler pan and heat until melted and bubbly, 3–4 minutes.
Step 6
Scrape melted cheese directly onto a slice of bread using a raclette spatula or butter knife.
Step 7
Serve with warm potatoes, pickles, and fresh bread. Repeat until cheese is gone.
