Whip cold heavy cream with 1 tbsp sugar and 0.5 tsp vanilla until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes.

Whisk together flour, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, and 0.25 tsp salt in a bowl.

In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and melted butter until smooth.

Pour wet into dry; fold with a spatula until just combined—small lumps are fine, don't overmix.
Step 5
Preheat waffle iron. Oil or butter the plates lightly. Pour batter into each waffle cavity until mostly full, close, and cook until golden and crispy, 3–4 minutes per waffle.
Step 6
Stack warm waffles on plates. Top with strawberries and a generous dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
