Step 1
Thaw the 1 puff pastry sheet according to package directions, about 30 minutes, until pliable but still cold.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3
On a lightly floured surface, cut the puff pastry into 8 strips, each about 1 inch wide.
Step 4
Wrap one pastry strip around each of the 8 hot dogs, leaving a small gap for the eyes. Tuck the ends underneath.
Step 5
Beat the 1 egg with 1 tbsp water. Brush the pastry-wrapped hot dogs with the egg wash.
Step 6
Bake for 15-18 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
Step 7
Press 2 candy eyes onto each mummy while still warm. Serve immediately.
