Step 1
Cook 1.5 cups rice with 2.25 cups water in a covered pot over medium-low, about 20 minutes until the water is absorbed and grains are tender.
Step 2
Mix 1 lb ground pork with 1/2 tsp salt (grate in a little ginger or garlic too if you have it) and roll into 12 balls.
Step 3
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high and brown the meatballs, turning often, 6-8 minutes until golden all over.
Step 4
Add 4 tbsp soy sauce and 2 tbsp sugar to the skillet and stir until the meatballs are coated in bubbling sauce.
Step 5
Simmer over medium, turning the meatballs, 3-4 minutes until the sauce is glossy and thick enough to coat a spoon.
Step 6
Spoon the glazed meatballs and sauce over bowls of rice and scatter 1 tbsp sesame seeds on top.
