Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) so it is fully hot before the tart goes in.
Step 2
Press the pie crust into a 9 inch pie dish or tart pan and crimp the edges.
Step 3
Toss the 4 cups diced apples with the 1/3 cup sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon and 3 tbsp melted butter until evenly coated.
Step 4
Tip the apples into the crust and spread them into an even layer.
Step 5
Bake 30-35 minutes until the crust is deep golden and the apples are bubbling and tender when pierced.
Step 6
Cool the tart 10 minutes so the juices thicken, then slice into 6 wedges.
Step 7
Serve each wedge warm with a scoop of the vanilla ice cream melting on top.
