Pat the 1.5 lb fish fillets dry and season both sides with 1 tsp salt and 0.5 tsp black pepper.
Step 2
Place 0.5 cup flour in a shallow dish and beat 2 eggs in another. Dredge each fillet in flour, then dip in egg, letting excess drip off.
Step 3
Heat 0.25 cup oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Fry the fish in batches until golden and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate.
Step 4
Slice the 1 large onion into thin rings and the 1 green bell pepper into strips. Add remaining 0.25 cup oil to the skillet over medium-high.
Step 5
Cook the onion and pepper, stirring occasionally, until the onion is crispy and browned at the edges and the pepper is tender, about 8-10 minutes.
